We are pleased to share this guest post by Tannis Fuller, Administrative Assistant with Mailey Rogers Group. – Kim Mailey

100 Women Who Care is an international organization that creates an opportunity to “Do GOOD” in this world without time consuming fundraising events and planning. Each group meets four times a year with a $50 donation cheque in hand (it can actually be $50 or more – more is always welcome). During the one hour meeting, participants learn about local organizations in need that have been put forward for sponsorship by members . After the presentations, it is as simple as getting up from your chair! Members vote by talking with their feet – simply walking over to the member whose suggested organization has most struck a chord with you. The organization that attracts the most members’ feet is the recipient of that meeting’s donation. The donation is immediate – there’s no red tape, and 100% of the money goes directly to the organization that night!

I went to my first meeting with my Mailey Rogers Group colleague Brie Fraser in January, and I am very pleased to say I am their newest member! My decision to join was actually based on the fact that the beginning of each meeting is always a testimonial from the organization that received funds from the previous meeting. Kidsafe was the very worthwhile recipient, and hearing how the funds were immediately used to provide nurturing safe havens for vulnerable inner city children when school is not in session was extremely moving.

Our Northshore Chapter is quite new and looking for like-minded women to join us in giving deserving organizations in our communities a helping hand. When we have 100 women (we are almost halfway there) we will be able to collectively give $5,000 or more every meeting. We also enjoy a glass of wine and each other’s company, which is an added bonus!

Brie and I would love to have you join us! It’s a great organization that needs some more great women to make a difference. March 6th is the next meeting – please let us know if you would like to join us, and we will send you all the info.
